LONDON, England -- As reported by the BBC: "Two self-confessed gambling addicts who funded a spree at a London casino using a stolen cheque book have been jailed. "Alakasundram Prabaharan from East Ham, east London, and Gurmit Singh Multani from Maida Vale, west London, raised about £8,000 from their scam.

Citycenter budget increases

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- The budget for Las Vegas' most expensive construction project grew a little larger Tuesday. MGM Mirage said building costs for the 76-acre CityCenter development on the Strip had increased $400 million to $7.8 billion.

New Jersey Gambling Study Released For Video Lottery Expansion

New Jersey is facing the same problems that Las Vegas is going through, the competition from neighboring states has put a dagger in gambling revenue, now a study has been released on the advantages of placing video poker machines in the states horse racing tracks. In a recent report, it was found that the state of New Jersey could raise revenue by $433.5 million if they decided to put video lottery machines at their horse racing tracks, but the addition of the machines would damage the states already struggling Atlantic City casinos.

Harrah's Faces $2.8 Billion Lawsuit

Harrah's Entertainment, one of the world's biggest casino operators, may be in trouble as a lawsuit by the Mohawk Tribe could add another $2.8 billion to its pre-existing $13.9 billion that the company's buyers agreed to take on as part of their buy-out deal. Private equity firms Apollo Management and Texas Pacific Group originally agreed to purchase Harrah's for the amount of $17.1 billion, which includes the $13.9 billion debt.
